Why Planet Crust?
Planet Crust is the creator and driving force behind Corteza – a fully accessible, 100% open-source, 100% API-centric, entirely standards and best-practice oriented low-code platform.
Connect to Any Data Source
Corteza can connect to data from any machine-readable source – no matter how old or non-standardized – via our Integration Gateway. Corteza then transforms that data into a standardized format for users to build unlimited records-based management and structured data applications such as CRMs and Accounting, Urban Data, Case Management, Supply Chain Management and Patient Management Systems, to name a few.
Fast and Easy App Building
To make customizing and building applications fast and easy, Corteza offers drag-and-drop app building tools along with flexible data models, visual workflows and advanced chart building and reporting. The result is an up to 90% cost-savings compared to traditional software development, with app delivery measured in hours or days instead of weeks or months.
Commitment to Top-Quality User Experience
Planet Crust is committed to creating the highest quality product possible. To achieve this, we spend 25% to 40% of our product and engineering budget on quality control and user experience to compliment our extensive suite of features. This combination of quality and standards in an open-source platform is unmatched in the open-source industry.
As far as technologically possible, Corteza is 100% standards-oriented in the following domains and beyond:
- Authentication and Identity Management
- Sharing and Federation
- Data Format
100% Accessible to Everyone Everywhere
Corteza is the only low-code platform we know of that is 100% compliant with the World Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 so that the Corteza Low-Code developer backend, the Corteza system administrator console and any application built using Corteza are all WCAG 2.1 accessible by default. In addition, Corteza is also internationalized according to the i18n standard. This means that Corteza can support all 7,000+ of the Earth’s languages so that any culture, group, organization or nation can use Corteza.
100% Open-Source and Free to Use Forever
We offer a friendly Apache v2.0 license to do with Corteza what you want with no obligation to publish new software code. What you create is yours. By comparison, most other open-source companies offer more restrictive General Public License (GPL) or Affero General Public License (AGPL), which require that new code be published. In addition, all Corteza code is contributed to the Commons Conservancy Software Foundation, meaning that access to Corteza software can never be taken away from the organization that’s using it.
